I read and hear about people that want to quit there day job and go right into internet marketing full time. If you do that I know one thing. You will starve unless you got a horseshoe stuck somewhere. There is one exception. If you already have an internet marketing career going at the same time as your day job and you are making enough money from your online marketing to cover you if you quit your full time job cold turkey.
You see a lot of people get fooled by these guys and gals that tell you to listen to them and you will be making big money in a few days or weeks. This is a business just like any other business. The first thing you must do is learn your trade. Get educated about internet marketing. You cannot just throw up a website and expect to make money. I also don’t believe you can make money by spending no money. The learning curve is just to steep in this business. How can you get some education in this field if you have no money or very little money. There are a million products you can buy (and I think I have bought most of them).
No. I have a better idea for you to get started. You can go to one of two places or both if money is tight.
1. Go to your local library. Take some pens and a notebook and start reading. Oh yeah, take plenty of notes. I bet there are 20 books about internet marketing in the library if it’s a decent size library. Don’t forget to check out the magazine rack also.
2. Go visit your favorite bookstore. I know there at least 20 books there about internet marketing there. Probably a lot more than that. Read, take plenty of notes, come back another day and read some more.
But after you read you must take some action. Build a website. You can build a wordpress blog for free. You won’t break your computer if you do something wrong. I suggest you start off with affiliate marketing. It’s the easiest and cheapest way to learn internet marketing that I know of. I know you will surf the internet looking for information. We all do. But if you are not careful you can spend a lot of money that you may not need to spend. I have spent over $10,000 on my online marketing education over the last 4 or 5 years.
I can point you in the right direction when it comes to people that can really help you if you follow what they say. If you don’t listen (most don’t) you will bounce around for years, not making any money until you finally give up or go broke.
